chriso Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Hello guys, have lived with a non functioning digitil clock backlight on my Galaxy (98 plate GL) for a few years now. But now have found this great web site wondered if anyone knows how to change it. I have tried pulling back the whole cowling thingy that contains all the buttons for the sunroof etc and the clock but don't know how far I can go before it all comes apart in my hands. Anyone got any advice please? regards, Chris Quote
Guest nimrod Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Use a screw driver and prise the clock out the head lineing! it does come out if you use enough force :o but be careful as the head lineing will crush or mark if you push it to hard! with the clock removed its just a case of unpluging it to get a better look at the bulb mounting, its easy to remove useing a pair of thin nose pliers etc the bulb is a 1.2w panel bulb replace the bulb, stick the plugs back in, switch on the ignition and the lights to check it all works? if it does stick it back in the hole you tore it out of! :o and jobs a good en! :o Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 ..and ISTR it's been covered with photos on this site before. Try a search. Oh, and good luck when you get round to changing it. Quote

chriso Posted July 9, 2004 Author Report Posted July 9, 2004 Thanks for your advice guys - spot on and with pictures too - excellent. Saves sneaking down to Halfords and trying to break into a Haynes manual for a peak without paying! Happy motoring. Best regards, Chris Quote
